Brewery History

Purkmistr Brewery continues the rich brewing history of Pilsen and the region, which goes deep into the past. The idea to brew honest craft beer again arose together with the opening of the Brewery Yard and became a reality in 2007. Since then, we have brewed thousands of hectoliters of beer, welcomed thousands of guests, and become a place where tradition meets a modern approach and love for brewing art.

How We Brew Beer

At the Purkmistr brewery, we brew beer in a traditional way with an emphasis on quality and authentic taste. We use unpasteurized and unfiltered ingredients from both domestic and foreign sources, which undergo a careful fermentation process in open fermentation vats. Afterwards, we let the beer mature in lager tanks to acquire its full harmony and character. The result is an original beer with a rich flavor that offers our guests a genuine beer experience.

A tour that smells of malt and history

Brewery Tours

Visit the Purkmistr brewery and discover its story from the very roots. During an approximately 30-minute tour, we will guide you through the history of the original farmhouse courtyard, introduce the construction of the Brewery Courtyard complex in Pilsen–Černice, and explain the origin and significance of the PURKMISTR trademark. You will also learn about the beer brewing process at our brewery, and at the end, you will get acquainted with the different types of beers we produce here – including the possibility of tasting them.
