THE MASTER BREWERS AND THEIR QUALIFICATIONS

As every brewery with an ambition to brew the best beer as possible, also we at PURKMISTR acknowledge that it is the “name” (i.e. experience) of the Master Brewer that makes the beer. In this respect, our guests and customers may be sure that both of our Master Brewers rank among the best professionals on this field.

Josef Krýsl, graduate Food-technology and Processing Vocational School and Chemical-Technological University, rank among the best-known brewers in the CR; served as the Master Brewer in the Pilsner Urquell brewery.

Petr Krýsl, graduate Food-technology and Processing Vocational School, Josef Krýsl’s son, follows in his father’s footsteps and keeps up the family tradition.

Both our Master Brewers are certified to perform sensory evaluations.

Further qualifications:

• February 2005, Prague – awarded 1st place for the light and dark lager in the Homebrewing category
• Spring Brewers’ Prix 2007 – awarded 1st place for the dark lager
• Beer and Whisky Stockholm 2007 – awarded 3rd place for the dark lager Purkmistr
• 2007 – awarded the Brewer of the Year title by the Beer Fellows Society
• 2008, Czech Beer Seal Festival, Tábor – awarded 3rd place for the dark lager
• 2008, Sun in the Glass Festival, Pilsen – awarded 1st place for the light lager
• Spring Brewers' Prix 2009 - awarded 1st place for the light lager and 3rd place for the dark lager
• The Beer of the Czech Republic 2010 - Purkmistr won two medals: Gold medal for DARK BEER 12% and BRONZE medal goes to SMOKED BEER 12%
