FROM THE HISTORY TO THE PRESENT
The first historic record of the original farmhouse that is now the Pivovarský dvůr Purkmistr dates back to the year 1603. At those times it was customary not to number the houses, but rather to give names to them (and the whole granges) after their owners or tenants. In the said year, this estate, then called “Bendovský” (the Benda’s grange) was sold to one Petr Burm at 307 threescores of Meissen groschen by the local inn-keeper Fait. Over the years, many other owners changed off on the estate, one of them giving the name “Tonnarovský” to it. In 1786, someone Matěj Šneberger bought it at 473 Rhine guldens, 44 kreutzers and 4 ½ denarii. At that time, the estate is called “U Faitů” once again, which indicates that its owners came back to its earlier name again.
In 1999–2000, the complex was purchased with an intention to build a gastronomy and relaxation centre here.
The restored complex comprises in itself some of the original structures and the newly-built ones with a taste and respect to the genius loci, where the new buildings are incorporated to the original concept not exceeding the volumes of the original, now non-existent, buildings and respecting the architectural elements typical for the locality and the particular farmhouse alike.
In spite of the vast difficulties hindering the reconstruction, the whole complex was opened to the public on June 6, 2007, at 16:00. We firmly believe that this magical combination of numbers shall mark a successful future for our business and for your satisfaction that determines it…
